It seems like since his release from prison, Gucci Mane has gone straight to work relentlessly. Fresh off the release of his Everybody Looking project and Drake hinting at a new project titled Please Forgive Me, the rumors of a collab project between the two have been made official.
The news and exclusive details about the aforementioned project has been confirmed by Gucci’s frequent producer Zaytoven during his interview with VladTV. According to Zay, they’ve been planning this since the video shoot for “Guwop Home,” where Zay proposed the idea of Drake and Gucci to work on a joint EP.
After brainstorming the idea, they came up with the title The Sixers – referencing to Drake’s Canadian ties and Gucci’s Zone 6 in East Atlanta.
Zaytoven also said that he and Mike WiLL Made It have already laid down tracks on the same day as the shoot:
“We had started recording songs that same day, I know that we got two songs concrete for sure songs that will go for the project. I don’t know for sure it’s going to be me and [Mike] doing the whole thing, if somebody else is gonna be a producer on it, or if I’ll do one by myself and Mike do one by himself. We don’t really know that for sure, just as long as the songs match up together.”
